Development Permits - appeal deadline October 12, 2023

The Development Authority of the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass recently approved the following development application(s):

  • DP2022-177 1605 78 Street, Coleman (Lot 19 Block 5 Plan 8411161). For a “Fitness Centre” (Gymnastics), “Industrial equipment sales and rentals” (U-haul rentals – 10-units), “Light Industrial/manufacturing” (wood shop) and a “Surveillance Suite” (all discretionary uses), all within an existing building.
  • DP2023-140 – 1854 York Creek Drive, Blairmore (Lot 3 Block 3 Plan 0010278). For an “Accessory Building up to 95.2m2” (permitted use) prior to the construction of the principal dwelling.
  • DP2023-142 1308 East Hillcrest Drive, Hillcrest (W5;3;7;17;NE). For a “Single-Family Dwelling” (discretionary use)
  • DP2023-147 7702 18 Avenue, Coleman (Lots 11-12, Block 12 Plan 820L). For a “Fitness Centre” (Yoga Studio) (discretionary use) and a “Coffee Shop” (permitted use)
  • DP2023-155 – 8724 24 Avenue, Coleman (Lot 4 Block 33 Plan 9610405). For a “Single-Family Dwelling” (permitted use)
  • DP2023-157 13118 18 Avenue, Blairmore (Lot 3-6 Block 27 Plan 2933AA & Lot 7 Block 27 Plan 2933AA). To demolish the existing “Accessory Buildings” [Garage / Covered Storage Area encroaching into the lane, Shed on Lot 7, and Fence encroaching into the lane]. For an “Accessory Building over 72.83m2 in area” (Garage 112.25m2) (discretionary use) with a 100% variance to the rear yard setback and a 39% variance to the height from 4.5m to 6.25m.
  • DP2023-163 13001 16 Avenue, Blairmore (Lot 19-20 Block 33 Plan 2933AA). For an “Accessory Building over 72.83m2 in area” (Garage – 82.13m2) (discretionary use) and the re-location of an existing “Accessory Building under 72.83m2 in area” (Shed- 13.66m2) (permitted use)
  • DP2023-168 – Ironstone, Coleman (Plan 0714028). For a “Fourplex” (permitted use)
  • DP2023-139- Blairmore (Block A Plan 2210634). For a “Subdivision or Development Marketing Sign” (permitted use)

Any persons claiming to be adversely affected by the above discretionary development permits or variances may file an appeal by October 12, 2023, to SUBDIVISION AND DEVELOPMENT APPEAL BOARD (SDAB) through our Municipal online form or to the or the Land and PROPERTY RIGHTS TRIBUNAL, as may be applicable.

  • DP2023-084 & DP2023-085 – 12146 20 Avenue, Blairmore (Lot 4-7 Block 2 Plan 2347BS). For “Retail Store” (Flooring & Candy Shop) (permitted use) and two “Fascia / Wall Signs” (permitted use)
  • DP2023-162 - #5 – 5302 19 Avenue, Coleman (Unit 5 Plan 0612401). For an “Accessory Building up to 95.2m2” (permitted use) with a 3.5% variance to the height from 6.7m to 6.94m.
  • DP2023-166 – 605 227 Street, Hillcrest (Lot 11-12 Block 33 Plan 5150S). For an existing “Accessory Structure” (porch) (permitted use) attached to an existing “Manufactured home” (discretionary use)
  • DP2023-167 – 7498 18 Avenue, Coleman (Lot 31-32 Block 9 Plan 820L). For an “Accessory Building up to 72.8m2” (permitted use) with a 50% variance to the rear yard setback from 1.2m to 0.6m and a 50% variance to the secondary front yard setback from 3.05m to 1.52m
