If you are reporting a Bylaw complaint for any of the issues listed below, please use the following form

Please note: If this bylaw concern is in relation to a bear or other wild animal sighting, attractants or a problem bear you must also notify Alberta Fish & Wildlife at (403) 562-3289.

Animal Control Control of domestic animals and activities. Licensing. Animal:- running at large, bite/chase, bark/howl.
Animal Protection Concerns regarding the protection of welfare to domestic animals. Please note Peace Officer's do not investigate the concern for sick or injured wildlife. Please direct those concerns to Alberta Fish and Wildlife or the Province of Alberta. Domestic animals abandoned, unattended for long lengths of time, failure to provide adequate food, water or shelter, unattended animals in vehicles.
Burning Burning of prohibited debris Burning animal cadavers/manure, railway ties, automobile bodies, tires, rubber/plastic, used oil, chemicals/paints, tar paper, shingles
Business License Control and regulation of business and industry. No business license
Cemetery Control and regulation of Municipal cemeteries Speeding, driving over lot, destroy/damage/deface structure or object.
Civic Addressing Identification of Municipal properties Display of readable address signage
Community Standards Unhealthy, dangerous, potentially dangerous and unattractive premises. Accumulation of garbage, household furniture, construction debris, abandoned/junk vehicles, animal waste, broken/missing windows/shingles/siding, unsafe excavations.
Environmental Services Environmental Concerns Report the presence of noxious or prohibited weeds or report infestations or the presence of nuisance wildlife such as skunks.
Fireworks Use, sale and storage of fireworks Possess, discharge, sell firework/firecracker without permit.
Heavy Truck Route Regulate and control Heavy Trucks Heavy truck off route, over weight, parking.
Lawn and Garden Watering Regulation of the water system for lawn and garden watering Outside watering May-Sep. Even numbered houses Tuesday,Thursday,Saturday. Odd numbered houses Wednesday,Friday,Sunday all 6am-9am & 7pm-11pm. No outside watering on Monday.
Long Grass Unattractive premises with long and unattended grass and weeds. Grass or grasses in excess of 12 inches
Noise Constricting, mitigating and abating activities which give rise to unnecessary noise. Allow noise to continue which annoys, disturbs, injures, endangers or detracts from comfort, repose, health, peace or safety.
Off Highway Vehicle Control Regulate the use of off Highway Vehicles Off Highway Vehicle speeding, unregistered, uninsured, no license plate, not properly equipped, owner also responsible.
Other / Information Seeking General concerns that do not fit into any specific category and requests for information or follow up to an ongoing investigation.
Parks Preservation of safety and appropriate public enjoyment of parks within the Municipality. No camping, dangerous activity, damage/vandalism, speeding, improper waste disposal.
Request for Contact You are looking for a Peace Officer to contact you for general inquiries, call backs or follow ups. Investigative follow up requests, general inquiries, questions for a peace officer.
Snow Removal Concerns regarding snow removal from a sidewalk or walkway. Failure to remove snow from a sidewalk or walkway adjacent to private property. Please Note: Peace Officers do not investigate complaints regarding snow removal conducted by the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass. Please contact the Municipal Office regarding a concern regarding plowing.
Tobacco, Cannabis, or Liquor Concerns about the illegal usage or consumption of Tobacco, Cannabis or Liquor. Smoking too close to public accesses to buildings, smoking or consumption on school or health care facility premises, unlawful consumption in a vehicle, consumption in a public or otherwise unauthorized location.
Tourist Homes or Short Term Rentals Report incidents that occur involving a Tourist Home or Short Term Rental property. Failing to display signage, failure to provide off street parking, concern of a tourist home or short term rental operating without proper licencing or permits.
Traffic Regulate and control vehicle, animal and pedestrian traffic and parking on the streets and on other property. Fail to obey traffic controls, prohibited parking, speeding.
Trespassing Reporting of an individual illegally accessing private property or failing to leave after being requested to do so by owner. Activity occurring on private property without owner permission (e.g., hunting, hiking, use of off-highway vehicles), a person fails to leave a business or other property after being asked or told to leave.
Wildlife Attractants or Solid Waste Collection Concerns regarding the placement or storage of Solid Waste or Wildlife Attractant. Garbage placed to the curb prior to 0600hrs the morning of garbage collection, storage or placement of a wildlife attractant, failure to remove a wildlife attractant, insufficient safe storage of a solid waste.

If this complaint is related to a bylaw issue (residential garbage complaints, weeds etc.) or environmental concern please use the online reporting system to send the complaint directly to the Community Peace Officers.
