Municipal Clean Up Services & Programs

The Municipality provides several services and programs to keep our community clean. We ask everyone to please dispose of their waste properly.

What can residents do to help?

Residents are encouraged to help out by simply picking up litter and debris in and around their own property. Litter or garbage on private property is the responsibility of the property owner.
The Municipality provides year round solid waste collection for residents along with providing:
- the Community Service Plus Clean-up Program,
- Recycling Roundup (Formerly referred to as Toxic & E-Waste Roundup),
- Assisted Large Item Pickup Service for Seniors and People with Accessibility Challenges, and
- the Community Yard Waste Site.
The Crowsnest Pincher Creek Landfill accepts solid waste which the Municipality pays the tipping fees for residents if under 500kg. Loads over 500kg are subject to additional fees at the landfill.

Crowsnest Community Service Plus Clean Up

The Municipality offers a Community Service Plus Clean-up program each spring and fall that allows residents to bring all household items to the Community Clean-up location for convenient disposal. Any resident of the Crowsnest Pass can bring their items to the drop-off location. There is no limit to the number of trips any person can make to the clean-up.

This program allows residents to drop off all household items as well as large items such as furniture, fence boards, or appliances. Fridges, freezers, A/C units and watercoolers containing Freon will be charged a $30.00 fee that must be purchased in advance at the Municipal Office prior to bringing to the site. Community Clean-up is not intended for commercial or large amounts of construction materials. No toxic materials will be accepted including oil, paint, electronics, etc. Toxic materials can be brought to the Recycling Roundup (formerly Toxic Round-up - offered in the fall).

Assisted Large Item Accessible Pick-Up Program: Helping Seniors and Residents with Disabilities

The Assisted Large Item Pickup Service for Seniors and People with Accessibility Challenges is a program to assist senior and disabled residents with the disposal of large household items. Residents over 60 years of age and residents with disabilities that prevent them from completing large-item waste disposal on their own may use the Assisted Spring Pickup Service for Seniors and People with Accessibility Challenges.

Pickup is limited to a maximum of 3 items and is limited to household furniture and appliances. There is a $30.00 charge for fridges/freezers for freon removal, payable at the Municipal Office. The sticker provided must be attached to the fridge/freezer with your address written on it. Any fridges/freezers without a sticker will not be picked up.

2025 SCHEDULE

Applications Due: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
Pickup: Monday, May 5 to Friday May 9, 2025, between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Residents who meet the program requirements can complete the registration at the Municipal Office or by downloading it below. Once complete, drop the completed form to the Municipal Office or email it to ashley.pow@crowsnestpass.com. A mail slot is available for after-hours drop-off.

Community Yard Waste Site

The Community Yard Waste Site, located at 1152 – 148 Street in the Frank Industrial Park, is now open for the season.

Grass clippings and tree branches can be dropped off in the yard waste site. Anything larger than 6” in diameter is not permitted. All loads are subject to inspection.

Please back down the slope as far as possible, until your vehicle is at the clippings/branch pile.

There are no set hours of operation at this time. We may add opening and closing times if illegal dumping is occurring.
