Each year, the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass follows a detailed process to plan its budget. This includes setting priorities, reviewing department needs, and hearing from the public.

Council has already approved the 2026 Budget Calendar and development guidelines. Here’s a look at what’s happened so far, and what’s coming up.

What’s Been Done

  • In May, residents completed a public budget survey.

  • On July 8, Council reviewed survey results at a regular meeting.

  • On July 15, Council approved the calendar, and budget guidelines for administration to follow.

Next Key Dates

  • August 21 at 1:00 pm
    Council will meet to review all Council-initiated items and any deferred initiatives from 2025 or previous years.

  • October 16 at 9:00 am
    Council will hear from grant applicants, committees, and boards. Operating departments will also present any proposed new initiatives.

  • December 4 at 9:00 am
    The draft 2026 budget will be presented. The public will have a chance to provide feedback.

  • December 11 at 9:00 am
    A follow-up meeting is scheduled if more time is needed for deliberations.

How to Stay Involved
Meeting agendas and budget documents are added to the Meeting Packages & Minutes page as they become available.

Once approved, the final 2026 budget will be posted in the Financial Statements & Budgets section of the website.
