Do you have a few free mornings this summer? Join the Weed Warriors and help protect our watershed by removing invasive plants from some of the most beautiful natural areas in the Crowsnest Pass.

Weed Warriors is a hands-on volunteer program that focuses on managing invasive plant species through manual removal. Whether you are a first-time volunteer or a returning participant, everyone is welcome. No experience is necessary.

Location: Meet in Blairmore at "Center Access" parking lot (across from Crowsnest Dental) on 129th St Cleanup Crowsnest River and tributaries such as Blairmore Creek and Gold Creek

Crowsnest Conservation Society (CCS) Crowsnest Pass River Cleanup To remove garbage and debris from the Crowsnest River and tributaries Saturday, September 6, 2025 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.  In 2013, 15 volunteers removed 27 bags of garbage and debris. In 2016, 12 volunteers removed 25 bags of garbage and debris. Please bring waders, boots and work gloves if possible. CCS can provide some gear, but the more you can bring yourself the better.

Abstract Discoveries

Day 1 we will make a series of different marks onto drawing paper to use as Collage materials for Day 2. In Day 2 the workshop will focus on ways to use these papers in a variety of techniques. Bring small images, drawings or good images to be included into the collage pieces. This will be a fun workshop which does not require any previous painting skills. If you are nervous about taking a class, the reality is that most practitioners are not interested in competing but are instead looking for something that will yield the results as promised.

The program is coached by world class coach Daniel Ravenhouse who has trained world champions in kickboxing and MMA, and coaches Megan and Simone.
