FortisAlberta’s crew will be working in Blairmore until the end of year continuing with the Crowsnest Pass electrical distribution upgrade since purchasing the system in 2016. They will be building a new power line that will tie in with FortisAlberta’s automated technology.
This upgrade will take place in north-east Blairmore between 20 Ave and Highway 3, and from 125 Street to the bridge access to Blairmore. Work will move from the east side of this area to the west by the end of the year, weather permitting (see schedule below).
They will install 180 poles and 83 transformers and upgrade service to 314 impacted customers. You may see stakes in the ground where new poles will be placed, and trees trimmed or removed in utility right-of-ways. FortisAlberta employees will be in touch with businesses to discuss any service interruptions.
When the new line is ready to be energized, you will be notified in advance by phone of any necessary power outages. FortisAlberta thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation as they follow Covid-19 protocols. Please take care around work sites. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact FortisAlberta’s 24/7 Customer Care Centre at 310-WIRE (9473).
