08.10.2018 FIRE BAN IN EFFECT

EFFECTIVE 1:30PM FRIDAY, AUGUST 10, 2018 - A Fire Ban has been issued for the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass due to increasingly dry conditions.

***EFFECTIVE 12:00PM SUNDAY, AUGUST 12, 2018 - A Fire Ban has also been issued for the Calgary Forest Protection Area surrounding the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass.

All active fire permits are cancelled, and no new fire permits will be issued until further notice.

PROHIBITED
All wood fires on residential property, in campgrounds, and in backcountry or random camping areas
Charcoal briquettes, turkey fryers and tiki torches
Fireworks and exploding targets

PERMITTED
Portable propane fire pits that are CSA approved or UL certified
Gas or propane stoves and barbecues that are CSA approved or UL certified
Catalytic or infrared-style heaters

Off-Highway vehicles can start wildfires – check frequently to ensure hotspots are free of debris, and make sure mufflers and spark arrestors are working properly.

The Fire Ban will remain in effect until conditions improve.
