07.07.2017 Fire Restriction - Effective Immediately

In conjunction with the Fire Restriction issued for the Calgary Forest Area, a Fire Restriction has been issued for the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass due to hot, dry conditions.  The forecast is calling for these conditions to continue and for temperatures to rise.  It is very likely that this Fire Restriction will be upgraded to a Fire Ban.  Please continue to watch for updates.

Under this restriction, all existing fire permits have been cancelled and no new permits will be issued until further notice.  No new fireworks permits will be issued until further notice.

  • Wood campfires in the backcountry or random camping areas.
  • Charcoal briquettes, turkey fryers, and tiki torches.
  • Fireworks and exploding targets.

  • Gas or propane stoves, heaters, barbecues, portable propane fire pits, and campfires in a designated campground using approved fire rings.

The Restriction will remain in effect until conditions improve.

Remember to check the hot spots on your Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) and remove debris before and after use. Never leave a campfire unattended. Soak it, stir it and soak it again until cool to the touch to ensure it is extinguished. If you see a wildfire, report it immediately by calling 310-FIRE.

Further restrictions may be implemented if conditions persist.
