Artist Collective Studio

The Artist Collective Studio is a unique artists’ studio and collaborative workspace.  As they are a cooperative, they are able to do more together.  Self-described as an artist family, a close group of friends, and a support system, they make up one of the strongest beating hearts of the creative community.  They offer one another professional, artistic, and technical consult and they share their knowledge, experience, insights, and opportunities to promote their work as a collective and as individuals. Engaging with one another is an incredible asset to the in-studio processes of conceptualizing, critiquing, and creating - and an advantage once out in the world of exhibitions, networking, promotion, and cultivation of vibrant creative careers.

The Artist Collective Studio began in April 2014.  As their artist family continues to grow and change their focus has stayed the same: create a functional workspace, thrive in our creative pursuits, and connect with our community through art

Crowsnest Pass Symphony Orchestra

The orchestra has a long history having begun in 1925 and continued since that time, making it one of the most enduring amateur orchestras in Alberta.  During those years the orchestra has been both a string orchestra and a full orchestra (including woodwinds and brass), which is its current status.  Members have been comprised of residents of Crowsnest Pass, Lundbreck, Cowley, Pincher Creek, Sparwood and Fernie.  One of its founding values was to provide an opportunity for many young students to participate in a group setting playing music they would not otherwise have had the opportunity to perform.  The range of ages of members in the orchestra has spanned from 12 years old to over 80 years old.

CNP Symphony is a group of amateur musicians who meet weekly from mid-September to mid-May.  Rehearsals are once a week on Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.  The orchestra presents a Christmas Concert in early December, usually in conjunction with the Crowsnest Community Choir, and then a spring concert in May.  Recently, the orchestra has travelled to Pincher Creek for a spring concert.  Additionally, the orchestra participates in the Crowsnest Pass Music Festival in March.

The community has been blessed with a number of very fine teachers over the years who encouraged, and sometimes insisted, that their students become involved in the orchestra.  Currently there are about 30 members.  The group is in need of additional players, especially string players.

Pass Pottery Club

The Pass Pottery Club's mandate is to provide a studio setting for the support and development of potters and to make the art of pottery accessible to the community at as low as cost as possible.

The Pass Pottery Club's mandate is made possible by the efforts of volunteers.  All members benefit from a well equipped studio. We ask that each member look for opportunities to contribute to the club through time spent maintaining the studio, loading and unloading kilns, and assisting in making glazes.  These tasks are not significant when shared by many volunteers.

If you wish to learn how to make glazes and load or unload a kiln please contact any of the executive or senior club members.
