Mountain Bike Tourism Cluster
Community Futures Crowsnest Pass is pleased to announce that funding has been approved for the development of a Mountain Bike Tourism cluster in the Crowsnest Pass.
Administered through Community Futures Crowsnest Pass, the two year project proposes the establishment of 10 loop Mountain Bike trails and a Mountain Bike Skills Park. Both the trails and park will meet international standards as set out by the International Mountain Bike Association (I.M.B.A.).
The proposed project is expected to cost $380,000, with funding provided through the Rural Development Initiative and partnering community private and public sector cash contributions. In kind contributions from community public and private partners for the implementation of the project are over and above the project costs, and will also be substantial.
This is a very positive initiative for the Crowsnest Pass in becoming an Adventure and Mountain Bike Destination in Alberta. It will bring into the community a substantial amount of Mountain Bike enthusiasts and tourism dollars, as well as opportunities for business development and expansion.
