The Crowsnest Pass is nestled between peaks in the Rocky Mountains of southwestern Alberta on Highway #3, between Waterton Lakes and Banff National Parks. This wonderland is a four season community in love with the mountains, streams and outdoor adventure.
A snowmobile and ATV heaven of old logging and coal haul roads which have been cleared and numerous bridges built to protect the watercourses and provide for fabulous riding. More than 1200 kms. of trails have been identified, signed and mapped. Many are maintained by a groomer which provides easier access in to the steeper/deeper snow-filled basins.
The Crowsnest Pass has become a major destination for snowmobilers and ATV'ers of all ages and abilities. The scenery is beautiful, the trail network is vast and there is ready access to many snow packed bowls and high mountain passes providing for a wide variety of riding skills.
Nearby amenities include excellent accommodation and meals at either hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, cabins and guest ranches. Machine rental and guide services are also available.
Maps are available, at a nominal cost, indicating the staging areas with over 1200 kms. of trails stretching from the US border in the south to Cataract Creek near Kananaskis Country in the north; including numerous passes to climb up and over the mountains and enjoy both Alberta and the B.C. sides of the Great Divide.
In the winter, the Crowsnest Pass offers to the skiing/snowboarding enthusiasts the Pass Powderkeg Ski Hill complete with a terrain park, lodge facilities, and day and night skiing. The Crowsnest Pass is ideally located between two major ski resorts - Fernie and Castle Mountain - a short 40 minute drive either way. There is also a wonderful cross-country ski area at Allison/Chinook Lake which is a wonderland in itself.
