Recycling

The Municipality of Crowsnest Pass deems it important to provide a recycling service to its residents. In order to facilitate this service a charge of $2.50 per month will be applied to the utility billing of all customers receiving municipal utility services.  (Bylaw no. 728, 2007)


Recycling Service Update
Effective January 1, 2007, Pass Beverages Bottle Depot will be providing the recycling service for the Municipality.

The following items are recyclable if sorted and delivered to the Pass Beverages Bottle Depot located in the Frank industrial park.

Office Paper
Photocopy paper, letter or other paper, white with one color heading, white envelopes (no windows), laser computer paper (white), colored ledger, fax paper, white ledger with more than one color/areas of color, chart paper, colored envelopes (not brown), shredded ledger, fan fold paper, white continues form.

Newspaper
All newspaper including flyers and small quantities of magazines.

Cardboard/Corrugated Cartons
(must be flattened) All corrugated cardboard, all boxed material, brown envelopes and brown paper bags (NO PLASTIC).

Plastic
Opaque plastic milk jugs (must be rinsed and cap off - please swish and squish)

Other Plastics
Any jugs or tubs (no film). Please - no containers from hazardous wastes or oil products.

Tin Cans
Washed, de-labeled and squashed, separate aluminum and tin.

Glass
Clear glass only (must be clean).

Note: Wax crayon, tempura paint and carbon contaminate the recycling process. Paper with these products must not be recycled. Thank you for  following these guide lines for a more efficient recycling program.
